Today I had the pleasure of waking up extra early for the second day in a row. No, it is not for job. Instead it is for a 12 pound bundle of energy, named Anna. Anna is a cute, wrinkly Vizsla that Natalie and I adopted this weekend. She is 8 weeks and 1 day old today. This weekend we have spent a lot of time together. However, she has slept through a good deal of it. The first night she was pretty scared and cried a bit. But since then she cries less and less. Today she went into her crate for a nap, which is very different than the first few attempts of me trying to persuade her to go to her crate. Anna may be the smartest dog I have ever had. At less than 48 hours of time together, she has learned to come, sit, and walk well on a leash. Also, she appears to be picking up on the fact that her name is "Anna." Also, she is great when meeting other people and dogs and even her potty training has been remarkably easy so far. Perhaps I am getting ahead of myself, but she is amazing.
While we usually just play in the yard, I have taken her on a few walks and she now gets excited when I bring out the leash, since she knows she will get to go far away from home and smell all kinds of things. I will post a bunch of pictures soon, but wanted to post something while the dog is napping.
