Peanut Butter and Jelly Day

Did you know that my birthday falls on "Peanut Butter and Jelly Day"? For those of you who knew me as a little lad, you may have noticed that sometimes I was a bit picky about what I ate. However, you probably never heard me complain about a PB&J sandwich. I ate so many of them through school and more recently during my bike ride across the US that I almost turned into one! I know there were several occasions that I would make at least a half of loaf of bread into sandwiches and eat them all. I could talk about PB&J's for a while, but let's just say that I am glad to be associated with such a great sandwich.

I know I have just learned of this holiday, but many others have already heard of it. In fact there is a an e-card just for the occasion. Also, if you would like to find out what crazy (or not so crazy) holidays fall on your birthday, check out this link.

As for the weekend, I got caught up on a few chores and talked with a bunch of friends and family. I got a bike ride in on Saturday, which worked out well since the rain started today. Some fellow classmates went to a soccer game in Guadalajara. One of them shot a short video from the Solectron box. The crowd never stops chanting for the entire game. And just for a bit of business trivia. Solectron bought out the computer repair company, Sequel, that I used to work for in Memphis. I found that out when I walked up to their booth at a job fair last year.

Lastly, I am planning my next trip! I will be headed off to DC, NYC, and Boston in February. It should be a great time getting to see a bunch of family and friends before I take off for Europe. Hope to see you along the way!

  1. You said "lad". You are so ready for Ireland! =)

  2. My birthday is National Absurdity Day. It's all starting to make sense now.
